fESWT - focussed Extracorporeal shockwave therapy for dogs and horses
focussed EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
focussed Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (fESWT) is a non-invasive evidence-based veterinary treatment that uses high-energy sound waves.
fESWT stimulates healing of musculoskeletal, soft-tissue and bone injuries and can have a cartilage-protective effect in horses and dogs. It reduces inflammation and can relieve pain. Focussed ESWT targets the peak pressure into the tissue where it is needed.
If needed fESWT can reach deeper than laser therapy. Most animal tolerate it well, but some sedation may be needed to keep the animal still in a position. Treatment is relatively short and at least 3 treatments at 1 week to 1 month interval are recommended.
Examples of conditions treated: ligament and tendon tears, back and neck pain, splints, joint pain, arthritis, myofascial pain, non-union fractures.
Due to the machine being heavy and cumbersome to transport, treatment is only offered at my location.

Appointments from Monday to Friday
